About Me

¡Hola y Bienvenidos!

I’m Andrea, and I am starting my third year of teaching Spanish. I taught 6th grade level 1A my first year. Last year I had two levels: 6th 1A & 7th 1B, and I will have these same two levels again this year. I am certified LOTE Spanish EC-12 and currently teach at a GT academy located inside of a regular middle school. Our students earn 2 high school language credits by the end of middle school. The other Spanish teacher and I both use the provided textbook Expresate as a guide, and we do a lot of supplementing on our own as well.

I also have dreams of traveling the world. So far I’ve been to Mexico, Ecuador, and Honduras. The next three countries that I want to visit are Spain, Peru, and Costa Rica. I’m hoping to go abroad again soon for either missions or teaching English.

I hope that his blog will be a useful resource for you as a teacher!

Andrea, I am also a MIddle School/High School Spanish teacher. I would love to know more about the how you divide the material up for your 6th and 7th grade students. What do you cover to complete the Spanish High School credit requirement? And documents that you could share with me? I am getting ready to do the same in my school in TN. I would love to hear from you. Thank you for the resources.
